"Love is a fruit in season at all times, and within reach of every hand." -Mother Teresa

During my freshman year of college I found that I had most of my evenings free from any activity. I was a big fan of internet browsing on Stumble Upon and Facebook. But I soon became tired of the negativity that I was seeing projected on Facebook, and Stumble Upon was eating up hours of my time and I was getting very little out of it. I decided to try a new web site that a friend of mine had told me was like Stumble Upon, but better. Pinterest is a virtual pinboard. Pinterest lets you organize and share all the beautiful things you find on the web. Then you can check out other peoples boards and find new ideas. This is where I originally got the idea to make these canvases. After noticing all of the negativity often projected on web sites like Facebook and Twitter, I was inspired to do my part to spread positivity and love. On Pinterest I found simple ways create professional looking artwork for a low price.
I started with my family. My mom has always told us "be true to yourself", from the time I could talk until I hugged her goodbye
when they dropped my off at college. I wanted to make her something beautiful with this saying to let her know how much I appreciate all the words of wisdom she has given me in my short nineteen years of life. This canvas is now hanging right by the door in our house, so whenever we are walking out into the world, we never forget to take mom's favorite saying with us. After finishing my mom's canvas, I moved on to my sister. I absolutely love my sister and I have seen such growth in her over the past year. For her birthday, I not only wanted to give her a gift, I wanted to give her encouragement. I picked a line from one of my favorite worship songs, "with all that I am, I will love You" and got to work. I knew that when this piece hung on her wall, she would occasionally be able to look at this lyric and remember who she is living for. From there I branched out to friends and their families, and used favorite quotes, bible verses, and lyrics on canvas's to help spread joy and positivity.
After getting a great response from my first few recipients, I began to think that these paintings might be good gift ideas for
things like birthdays, holidays, baby showers, weddings or really anything at all. Through my new found passion, I realized that I truly love to give gifts to people. Not only do I love giving people gifts, but I love giving gifts that I have made. These canvases can be personalized for anything or anyone, and I think that is just awesome. I am able to give people gifts of encouragement, love, positivity, worship and hope all on a little canvas.
