Our work is serious, but we can’t take ourselves too seriously.
We’re proud of our work, but not prideful in our interactions about it.
Confidence is key. Arrogance is a trap.
Sharing is kind. Spamming is cruel.
Competition is healthy. Comparison is a cancer.
Humility keeps us grounded. Self-deprecation keeps us down.
Knowledge is useful. Pretentious and pedantic are annoying.
Honesty is vulnerable and generous. Over-sharing is just too much.
Discipline is a tool. Legalism is a weapon, one that will likely turn on you.
Patience reveals maturity. Laziness reveals excuse-making.
Art is a human act. Anything else will most likely be replaced by a computer very soon.
Make art. Make personal, serious, art that you’re proud of. Make it with confidence, humility, knowledge, discipline, honesty, and patience.
Then share it.
