As an actor, I’ve found that waiting is the worst part.
The audition process itself can be nerve racking, but the waiting is downright unbearable.
Waiting for the next audition to come in.
Waiting to hear about the callback from the last one.
Constantly waiting for the phone to ring.
But what am I really waiting for?
If you want to be an actor, find a place to act. Don’t wait for someone to cast you in their show. Cast yourself. Make your own show.
Do this effectively, and do this enough, and you’ll flip the table. The casting director will start waiting for you to call them.
An actor acts.
If you’re not acting
in an arena
then you’re not an actor, you’re just waiting to be picked.
